One of the most successful Activision open world games is the Prototype series. In 2012, Radical Entertainment studio has been closed, and the rights for the game remained with Activision. 

Rebooting will allow for a fresh look at old concepts, improve them, add several characters to the game, and maybe even decide the fate of one of them in the end. We can only wait for official details in the near future.
