Driverless vehicles should automatically Slow Down and/or Move Over for emergency vehicles on the highway.

Tow truck operators and other emergency services working on the side of the highway are exposed to extreme risks. Existing 'Slow Down and/or Move Over' laws are helping to increase awareness and reduce the risk.

The next step is to ensure that all driver-less, self-driving, and computer assisted driving systems have programming that automatically improves the safety for those inside and outside the vehicle. Slowing down and moving over (when safe to do so) improves safety, reduces risk and will help save lives.
