华淡小课程明年将添新单元，小四学生将学爪夷文书法。
A new unit will be added into the syllabus of Primary 4 textbooks beginning next year; in which they need to learn Seni Khat or Jawi Calligraphy.

我国副教育部长张念群说，爪夷文书法只是趣味教学的一环，目前没有考试，但未来就得靠大家相互监督。
Our Deputy Education Minister Teo Nie Ching said, the Jawi Calligraphy is only part of teaching, to make the learning process more interesting. There is no examination at present, but in the future, we must rely on ourselves mutual supervision.

我们反对强制性将学习爪夷文书法纳入教育课程中。因为我们质疑这会否加重小学生的学习负担，且学爪夷文书法是否有经济价值？
We oppose the compulsory teaching Jawi Calligraphy in vernacular school as part of the curriculum syllabus. As we feel it might increase the burden of primary school students, and whether it is economically valuable to learn Jawi Calligraphy, we should think twice about our priorities in education.
