This petition aims at establishing a right to telework for individuals working within the European Union and a duty of means for companies and member states. The underlying objectives are multiple: reduction of global warming, better traffic fluidity (road, public transport, etc.) and limitation of pandemics.

All occupations where tasks can be performed remotely and without physical presence at the workplace should offer the possibility of teleworking. Companies should put in place the necessary measures to carry out telework and individuals could choose to carry out all or part of their work remotely.

Member States should incorporate tax rules that do not discriminate against the performance of telework. On the contrary: tax rules should be favourable to telework.

Not only would this reduce pollution linked to the means of transport used, but it would also increase the comfort of teleworkers' lives (less stress, fewer accidents, time saving, privileged family life, etc.). Moreover, it would avoid unnecessary congestion of public roads and public transport; thus, people whose physical presence at their workplace is indispensable will also benefit from increased living comfort.

Finally, it is also clear that this measure would help to limit pandemics. In this respect, the current health crisis (COVID-19) has shown that many companies are able to operate using telework.
