Why this petition matters

Started by Einsteinium Foundation

Einsteinium (EMC2) is valuable to the crypto-community and contributes directly towards the future of mankind.

Einsteinium (EMC2) is the cryptocurrency that was invented in 2014 and can be proudly called the Veteran of the Crypto-Industry with a very loyal community of followers all over the world.   Einsteinium (EMC2) is one of the not many rare coins which had survived from that era and successfully stood the test of time which gave it unique Bitcoin-like properties that can't be found in any other coins that were created later.

The Einsteinium Foundation is a non-profit organization (NPO) that was founded in 2018 and the world's first NPO to be backed by cryptocurrency. The defining characteristics of The Einsteinium Foundation is its ongoing commitment to research and charitable missions throughout the world, and to the safeguarding, maintenance, and development of Einsteinium, an international digital currency built on a secure, decentralized open ledger, or blockchain.

The long term vision of Einsteinium is to harness the power of a global community to use digital currency to “vote” on what they feel is most needed to protect and/or advance our civilization. By allowing funds to circumvent roadblocks, we can accelerate our ability to create rapid and necessary change. In our current economic model, 2% of all coins which get mined are systematically placed in a pool which is earmarked to support worthy scientific research projects in need of funds. However, at the current moment this process still requires human intervention. Much work remains to be done if a trustless protocol is to function as ideally as it should. Once we are able to create a completely trustless system, which would automatically support critical science projects and/or reward scientists for generational breakthroughs, then we can rightfully say that we have achieved a paradigm shift.

Einsteinium is managed by the Einsteinium Foundation, a nonprofit organization and the first NPO to be backed by cryptocurrency. Our mission is to develop blockchain technology towards the financial support of scientific research. We have a history of directly funding fellowships and awards supporting academic and industrial science. During the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic we pivoted our efforts to support frontline workers. The moment required fast, decisive action as money and supplies were desperately needed. Therefore, we provided direct support to Serim General Hospital and administration of our donation led to an immediate impact on the ground. We continue to actively search and fund innovation for therapies, drugs, and vaccines in this area.

You can learn more about the Einsteinium (EMC2) project through our official sources:

On Saturday, 12 June 2021 the Einsteinium Foundation team received a notice from UpBit with the claim that  “EMC2 has been put as an Investment Warning Digital Asset”. Besides the notice, UpBit had published publicly the notice-2013 (https://upbit.com/service_center/notice?id=2013). Which publicly proclaiming EMC2 as one of “digital-assets flagged with Investment Warning (25 projects)”  with the “[Reasons for the investment warning]”:

1) Team competency and business
2) Public disclosure of information and Communication
3) Technical competence and
4) Global liquidity.

We published our response here: (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=494708.msg57263557#msg57263557)

The Einsteinium Foundation team and EMC2 Community were shocked by those baseless claims.

For a mature organization like UpBit to publish such claims without any proof and by using public channels not only looks childish but also hurts the reputation of our project and puts in jeopardy funds of many people who are using EMC2 coin on a daily basis globally.

Nevertheless, the EMC2 Foundation team and EMC2 Community decided to satisfy the UpBit request in the hope that this is the mistake by UpBit and it will be rectified. So we directed UpBit the open letter reply “EMC2 Team Response to Upbit” with all of the information that UpBit requested.  (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=494708.msg57263557#msg57263557).

However, despite our goodwill, best intentions and complete openness on Friday, 18 June 2021 UpBit published the notice-2020 “Termination of market support ” (https://upbit.com/service_center/notice?id=2022).

In which UpBit stated that “the transaction support was terminated”  due to UpBit failing to  receive a reply from the Einsteinium Foundation team, - and this was the a fabrication from the UpBit side which caused a strong indignation not only in the Einsteinium community but in a larger sense the global cryptocurrencies environment. This irresponsible behavior on the part of the UpBit exchange has also caught the attention of big MEDIA

Einsteinium and Upbit have a strong relationship together, especially as it relates to our footprint within the Korean community. We take the message seriously and we have taken clear steps to address the issues that were brought up.

We call on UpBit to recognize their mistakes and reconsider their stance on EMC2. We demand that EMC2 remains listed on UpBit.

Otherwise, we will continue to explore our legal options to protect the reputation of the Einsteinium (EMC2)  project.
