A few years ago, Wattpad made the announcement that they were removing the newsfeed feature from their platform; stating that it was a less used feature. However, many readers on the app have used it to find many other books to read and enjoy, after seeing their peers comment on a specific book. Also, it was another way for a lot of underrated authors to gain interactions and traffic to their profile, finally becoming noticed and not being overshadowed by the popular, big accounts. Now, it’s difficult to find books that piques our interest, and having to take the time out to go through and search for books—and authors, fit to our liking, takes time. While many others may have not used the feature for themselves, plethora of readers and authors like myself have found it very useful. I have spoken to a great amount of people that use Wattpad and have complained about missing the newsfeed. While we do acknowledge the ‘Recommended for you’ feature that Wattpad offers based on our reading experiences, it’s either a hit or miss! We would greatly appreciate if Wattpad consider bringing this feature back to make our reading experiences even better!
