Judgment, released in December 2018 as Judge Eyes in Japan, is the latest game from the Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, responsible for creating the Yakuza video game series. 

Following the arrest in Japan on March 12th 2019 on drug use charges of actor Pierre Taki, who plays a major role in the game, Judgment's sales have been halted in Japan. 

Sega is currently considering whether to release the game to the west this year as originally planned. A solution has not yet been publicly announced, and three outcomes seem currently possible :

1) Releasing the game as is in western territories on the originally planned date of June 25th 2019 ;

2) Delaying the release while Puerre Taki's performance and likeness get replaced by another actor ;

3) Cancelling the localization altogether and not releasing the game at all.

Judgment can be considered as a spin-off of the Yakuza series, and carries great importance and hope to fans worldwide. On top of featuring a new protagonist and beginning a new story, it is, for the first time, planned to feature optional English voice overs, as well as subtitles in French, Italian, German, and Spanish, opening the saga to non English speaking players around the world.

The future of the game is uncertain at the moment, and it could very well end up being cancelled altogether.

Through this petition, I hope to show SEGA how much fans want the game released worldwide, and give the Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio the chance it deserves to reach a new audience and tell its story.
