Why this petition matters

Started by Amanda Keays

There has recently been a meeting held with the RM of Newcombe, as of December 31 our beloved Lemsford Ferry Regional Park will be closed for good. There will be a meeting on June 26 at 7:00pm in Sceptre, SK to hopefully save our park. The RM has told us that they do not want the liability for a clean up in the future. So they want it closed. They are telling us that the rate payers want it closed (there is no evidence of this from anyone in the park). This is hard to believe because we have over 40,000 dollars in the bank and haven’t cost the RM any money. We are creating this petition for anyone who would like to sign, this is absolute nonsense. Not only my family but everyone who goes to enjoy this campground or leases cabins or lots has put time, money and effort into making the park a clean, peaceful little oasis away from home. I know a lot of people from around our area has at one time or another created amazing memories there. If anyone is interested in getting involved to make sure Lemsford Ferry Regional Park doesn’t have an expiration date please contribute by signing this petition!!
