Recently, the animal rights activist organisation known as PETA insulted the legacy and memory of an Australian hero, Steve Irwin. I think PETA should to formally apologise on all social platforms.

Steve Irwin, one of the most amazing, inspirational people to have ever lived. A man who dedicated his life to wildlife conservation, raising awareness, educating, and actively saving millions of animals.

On the 22nd of February 2019 (Steve’s Birthday), PETA insulted the memory and legacy of this Australian hero in response to Google honouring his lifes' work with a Google doodle on their homepage. 

In response to that warm tribute to Steve Irwin, 'PETA' posted this: “#SteveIrwin was killed while harassing a ray; he dangled his baby while feeding a crocodile & wrestled wild animals who were minding their own business. Today’s #GoogleDoodle sends a dangerous, fawning message. Wild animals are entitled to be left alone in their natural habitats.”

This disgraceful misrepresentation of an iconic Australian who spent his life protecting the land and animals he loved cannot go unnoticed. PETA must be held accountable.
