Why this petition matters

Started by Daniel Jeon

Hi Fellow Healthcare workers.

My name is Daniel, RN on the process for a green card as EB3. The US has faced the nursing shortage for decades. The US needs more healthcare workers in acute, sub-acute, convalescent, and etc. many hospitals hire the doctors and nurses as an H visa, EB2 and 3.

I have worked at the hospital with my working permit which expired in Mar 2020. I submitted my I-485 with EAD combo in Jan 2020. The process can't be waived or expedited without proper reason and it needs to be reviewed properly.

During this unprecedented time of COVID19, there are many foreign nurses who have sufficient skils and passed all requirements, however, they simply can't work because their working permit or process is still pending. The working permit with I-485 usually takes 4-6 months and the Green card process at this time takes more than 3 years.

I requested USCIS to expedite my working permit with my employer's letter that they have not enough nursing force, however, USCIS denied my request in a minute. With COVID 19 outbreak, many nursing forces called in sick or can't work because they have to take care of the sick family.

Please support this petition so that USCIS makes changes to the current schedule A process and more nurses can join the fight against COVID19.
