This petition is to provide equal opportunity to final year students awaiting their graduation results to compete in bank exam recruitments by IBPS. The coronavirus pandemic has hit hard on the employment opportunities available for final year students in India graduating this year. Most of the universities who would have declared their final year graduation results in June/July 2020 had to delay the examinations and hence, many students are still awaiting their final year result. IBPS PO recruitment for this year, only allows candidates who are graduate as on 26-08-2020 to apply for the job and the online application also ends on the same date. But what about the final year students awaiting their graduation results? Do they not deserve a chance to compete to get a job this year? Is IBPS Ok with Assessing the same pool of graduate this year as well?

Lacs of final year students were not able to apply for IBPS RRB recruitment and they are not even eligible for IBPS PO recruitment as they still await their final year graduation results / or in few cases attempting the final year exam which are delayed due to the pandemic. It's not the student's fault that the universities had to delay the exam; IBPS and the government should provide a fair opportunity for such students under these special circumstances.

Many students prepare for years to get selected in a bank as a probationary officer in India and this year the final year students are bound to suffer due to the eligibility criteria. IBPS should change the eligibility criteria to allow the final year graduation students of 2020 to apply for the Probationary Officer Recruitment or change the Graduation Eligibility to a future date which ensures inclusion of all final year students who were set to graduate in 2020.

Let us raise our voices to help the youth of the nation and ask IBPS and the government of India to consider providing a fair opportunity to students who are graduating in 2020 amid the pandemic.
