Wisconsin residents have been waiting MONTHS for their unemployment payments. Many people are going on 20+ weeks of waiting for a decision.

The stress of the pandemic is already difficult enough, and when you add no income, and the threat of losing everything youve worked so hard for on top of it. It creates very severe mental health implications. People are losing their lives because they can't pay their bills and see no other option. Suicide, self harm and drug and alcohol abuse have increased. This is a matter of life, and death.

People are being evicted because they have no money to pay their rent. Children are going hungry because their parents can't afford to put food on the table with no money coming in. Phones are being shut off due to non-payment, and cars are repossessed. How are people supposed to apply for jobs if they have no way to communicate with potential employers and no access to transportation to potential jobs?

Debt is mounting and there is no end in sight to the waiting. Depleted savings accounts are a reality for many, and the threat of having to file for bankruptcy hangs in the balance. Because people have no income they have missed several payments, and maxed out credit cards which has caused credit scores to plummet and interest rates to increase. Waiting over 5 months for unemployment income is UNACCEPTABLE! 

If nothing is done soon there will be a devastating amount of homeless families in the coming months. Many people have already been evicted and are currently homeless. 

Rental assistance programs are running out of money. Crime has increased. People are desperate. Calling and being told to "just keep waiting" is not acceptable. We cannot afford to wait any longer!

We demand the IMMEDIATE release of unemployment and PUA payments! This is an emergency the people of Wisconsin cannot afford to wait any longer.
