Ontario garden centers and nurseries should be allowed to open safely just like the big box stores and supermarkets.

To stop millions of plants being wasted, horticulture businesses going under and jobs being lost, garden centers and nurseries need to be allowed to trade during the growing season. This is also a matter of public welfare as gardening is proven to have physical and mental health benefits.

Our garden centers and nurseries need customers and public support right now during the prime gardening season in order to avoid bankruptcies, the loss of crops and the layoff of staff.

Please allow Ontario garden centers and nurseries to open with approved safety measures that ensure physical distancing for both customers and staff.
