(Along with serious doubts of advance construction of the addition of Unit 3) Please withdrew the expansion plan of Unit 3 of Sendai nuclear power plant.

Currently, within the site of the Sendai Nuclear Power Plant, the protection forest is cut down and large-scale embankment construction work are in progress. Both Kyushu Electric Power Co. and Kagoshima Prefecture regard it as "Establishment of equipment storage place due to construction of coping facility for specific serious accident etc". However, when combined with the drawing of Unit 3 expansion plan, serious doubts emerged that seems to be a preliminary construction start of substantial Unit 3 expansion work in the following points.

1. The place where logging of the protection forest and embankment construction work is done is the planned place for logging at the time of addition of Unit 3 and it is the planned place of embankment construction work.
2. Currently, the position of the sedimentation basin installed at the side of the embankment coincides with the position of the retention basin at the time of Unit 3 expansion.
3. The position of the pipe arrangement from the sedimentation basin matches the position of the piping extending from the retention basin at the time of Unit 3 expansion.
4. When Unit 3 is expanded, the first construction is the embankment construction work of the site.

The construction period of this embankment construction work is 2 years and 9 months. In other words, if KYUSHU ELECTRIC POWER CO., INC. is going to begin full-scale construction of Unit 3, the construction term will be shortened by 2 years and 9 months.

Regarding the plan to expand the Unit 3 of Sendai nuclear power plant, former governor Yuichiro Ito has announced that he will freeze administrative procedures for public sea reclamation permission and cancellation of the protection forest, following the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident in 2011. On April 27, 2017, Governor Satoshi Mitazono gave a decision to proceed with this protection forest cancellation procedure. Since the Fukushima No.1 Nuclear Power Plant accident, many prefectural residents are concerned about the existence of nuclear plants themselves. As there is a serious doubts of advance construction of the addition of Unit 3, if this construction is unrelated to the expansion plan of Unit 3, KYUSHU ELECTRIC POWER CO., INC. please withdrew the expansion plan, and Governor Mitazono please withdrew the agreement for expansion of former governor Ito in 2010.
