Dear Heritage Place Families,

If you have a child in your home entering into 9th grade or a child set to enter 10th and 11th grade for the 2021-2022 school year, we need your help!
OCPS has built a new school and has approved option 1 which includes all of Hunters Creek and would have all of Heritage Place be zoned to go to the new school beginning the 2021-2022 year. Only children who are seniors for the '21-'22 school year would be able to stay at Freedom if the OCPS Board approves that option-that's where you come in! It is not fair to our families to relocate our children to a school that is over three times the distance(9 miles away) of going to Freedom High. The route from Heritage Place to the new school includes taking 4-17 which means paying not only more in gas, but more in tolls as well. It also makes no logical sense to relocate these students when they have the same zip code as students approved to go to Freedom High. Heritage Place is less than a mile away from the new school zone which allows students to be able to go to Freedom. Help keep our kids at Freedom, please consider signing this petition.
