GP Surgeries within Ashford  are at full capacity and there is no space to house new staff in order to cope with more patients due to population increase and the building of new properties. GP waiting times are going to have to increase significantly  to cope with the demand.

365 new low cost dwellings are opening shortly on the Spelthorne College Site, Church Rd and another 500 dwellings are planned in the immediate area increasing the population by approx 2,500 people all of whom will need medical services.

A GP surgery has already closed within Ashford and 5,800 pts have been dispersed among existing Practices.

Land is available at Studholme Medical Centre to develop new consulting rooms  and funding is available from the housing developers however we cannot get this funding allocated to support health care infrastructure for reasons which are unclear. 

Studholme Medical Centre  urgently needs your support to petition our MP, Mr Kwasi Kwarteng to ensure GP services are supported and infrastructure funding is in place, otherwise health care for local people in Ashford, is going to suffer.
