My name is Johnny Estep, and i have a niece who recently lost her job due to slander. She is a single mom, and works hard every day. Over 3 years ago she had a crime on her record, which she paid her dues for. Another employer started to slander her, and because of slander her job was taken. The boss where she worked, told her she was fired over the phone, after telling her how she was a great worker and hated to fire her.

  There are people who make bad choices in life, and when they do, sometimes they are locked up to pay for their choices. However, no one should be fired from there job just because another person wants to create slander on you. If you did commit a crime, you did the time, and that should be enough said. We understand there are serious criminals in the world, but for small crimes, and mistakes, it shouldn't be thrown in your face later on. So step up with the rest of us, and sign your name to this. We will be sending this to the Governor for Indiana, and try to create a new law,  protecting the people! We deserve to have jobs just like everyone else. 

Many of us live in small towns through out Indiana. Most of these people are people who have families they are trying to take care of. Some of the people who are taking care of families once had a record, or committed a crime. We need to give back rights to the people, and stop letting work places fire us for no reason, or for reasons that are no longer conditions in our life. Today you can be fired for several different reasons, and these reasons are wrong. For example, a single mom getting fired because of another work place causing slander. We deserve a chance, and the employers shouldn't be able to fire us just because they feel like it. If we are following the job line requirements, and we are doing our job, then why must we get fired just because they feel like firing us. Where did our rights go as american's?
