We urge you to CONTINUE TO SUPPORT the Wings of the City art installation in Greenville.

We, the people of Greenville, SC, deserve to share culture and art in our streets and public areas.

The exhibit has 9 statues. They are now displayed throughout Falls Park, in the Peace Center, and in front of the Peace Center on Main Street until October of 2021.

As the WingsOfGVL website states, the “nine monumental bronze sculptures, Wings of the City allows art to expand beyond the walls of museums and galleries and become a part of daily life."

This exhibit promotes art as a universal language and a bond between countries and their people. This is an opportunity to celebrate Mexican culture. This petition is a way to show Greenville, South Carolina, and the entire country that we are not ignorant to the arts.

There is a small subset of people asking for the statues to be removed, for the Hispanic alliance to lose funding that was earmarked, and for the statues to be removed.

WE IMPLORE YOU TO NOT - bend to the will of these people. Greenville is trying to build a reputation as a cultural destination. Allowing these people to have a world renowned art installation removed from our city would be an embarrassment.

Make our public areas of downtown rated C - for Cultured.

This exhibit was accepted in other cities with open arms & minds
