This year during the COVID lockdown around the world we have seen unprecedented sights of the planet healing: cleaner air over cities, wildlife returning to rivers and bays, reduction in seismic activity and reduction in noise pollution.

I want to ask world leaders to consider holding two weeks of reduced industrial activities, and bans on domestic and international travel, so that the planet can take a break, breath and recover from the harm that our activities are causing it. 

These two weeks could also be used to commemorate the loss of life to COVID 19 and the efforts that our doctors, nurses and clinicians are going through right now to save as many lives as possible. 

All it takes to protect our planet is collective action as one human race.
