Despite submitting hundreds of pages of extensive evidence to establish their US job offer, IRS tax contributions, chargeability area etc., USCIS mandatorily interviews all Employment Based (EB) Green Card Adjustment of Status applicants. This has exacerbated the wait time for EB GC approvals often by months and years. It also causes avoidable stress to aspiring immigrants who, in most cases, have already been contributing to nation building for decades. Additionally, this self-inflicted inefficiency has severely impacted USCIS' throughput, and being a fee-based agency, has pushed it to the brink of bankruptcy. This pointless lose-lose anti-legal immigration mandate, imposed by the Trump admin and introduced by USCIS on 28-Aug-2017 needs to be rescinded immediately. Especially to reduce wastage of GCs in FY21 when USCIS aims to process approx. 75% more (total 250,000+ EB) applications.
