Call-To-Action: We are requesting that the US Congress & the powers that govern  healthcare training programs enact EMERGENCY legislation that allows hospitals & their residency programs to accept additional qualified international medical graduates as part of the response teams dealing with the COVID-19 Pandemic on the frontlines. 

Amendment to Call-to-Action: 03/26/2020 - THOUSANDS of international docs that have ALREADY been Fully Vetted and ACCEPTED into US hospital residency programs to begin work in July may not be able to come back to fill their positions because of Visa technicalities. If you’re reading this quarantined . . . worried and scared, wondering what happens if I get sick…and there weren’t enough enough doctors to help everyone.

What if I told you there were 4,968 unemployed doctors that are completely qualified right HERE in the United States, ready, willing, and able to help save us. They have met the same criteria required to enter residency training here in the US.  that graduates from Columbia, Harvard, and Johns Hopkins Medical school have met. And I’m NOT talking about Retired doctors that they’re calling back to hospitals….

That’s right…Like Italy and China have ALREADY done, across the US RETIRED, Doctors & Nurses tare being called to return to help overwhelmed & understaffed hospitals. Most of them are over age 60-years-old!  That’s right. We’re asking the population that is MOST at risk to dying from Covid-19 exposure to go back in and put their lives at risk.

Is there a BETTER option? Who else can we ask?

Now what if I told you that on March 19th, 2020, when the pandemic was on the verge of reaching a tipping point, when what we do TODAY will determine how many live and die in the weeks, months, even years ahead - couldn't get a position in a hospital.  Those 4,968 doctors, known as International Medical Graduates (IMG's), many with YEARS of actual practice experience were told that they had to wait at least another YEAR to begin working at accredited US residency training programs.  They have to wait to join the COVID-19 fight.

They've passed the SAME United States Medical Board Exams that American Graduates take AND many have passed the Step 3 Licensing Exam designed for residents.

Covid 19 is not a Chinese Virus. It’s not a US Virus. It’s a WORLD Virus.

Hospitals in Italy are overrun & there is a shortage of qualified physicians.  Unfortunately, they don’t have the advantage that we have…sitting there waiting to be put back into the game.  What's happening in China & Italy is on it's way here.

Why would you want Old Graduates that completed medical school years ago? One Word: Experience.

Right now there’s a taxi cab driver in NY that could save your life…one that has infectious disease experience that’s driving people around to pay his application costs to get into residency.

In the US Military right now, we have 65,000 immigrants fighting for the US, with about 35,000 of them being non-US Citizens. Willing to die to protect and save their adopted home country. We honor them because we see them as the protectors of our freedoms.
