The modern opioid epidemic is destroying peoples lives, their communities, and their families.  Opioids are intended to be used as a way to relieve pain, but they are incredibly addictive and become used for a high rather than for it's intended purpose.  If we as a community have a more controlled flow of opioids, then it will become harder for the people who want to use them irresponsibly to get them.
