Why this petition matters

Started by Hunter Kincaid

In light of the current events happening regarding George Floyd’s murder, we want to draw attention to the current circumstances regarding Jamarion Robinson’s death, it has been 4 years since his murder by police. Jamarion Robinson was only 26 years old when he was murdered. Jamarion had a total of 76 bullet wounds to his body by U.S. Marshals in Atlanta, GA.

At the time of Jamarion Robinson’s death, he was a student athlete at Tuskegee University. Jamarion’s final semester would have been August of 2016. On August 5th, 2016, Jamarion was at his girlfriend’s home when the door was battle rammed open by the U.S. Marshals Taskforce with No Warrant. Upon battle ramming the door open they immediately opened fire on Jamarion. Jamarion had a total of 76 bullet wounds to his body, over 90 rounds were fired at him. They threw flash bang grenadeswhich landed on his body.

Additionally, someone stood over him and shot down into his body three more times, he was then handcuffed and dragged down a flight of stairs, then dropped in the living room where he laid there for over 8 hours with no medical aid rendered. The autopsy shows that he was shot 6 times in the palm of his right hand and 5 times in the palm of his left hand, indicating that his hands were up in a defensive position as the police were shooting at him. Jamarion had accumulated bullet wounds down his arms, torso, thighs, groin, shins, and feet.

Even if the story that the Marshals put out in their official reports were accurate, this would still be an unnecessary and unusual use of force by the police.
