Why this petition matters

Started by Marc Castrovinci

Oppose the application (SUP2019-00026) by Allan Myers for the construction of a second asphalt plant on Bethlehem Road.

The proposed asphalt plant will create significant health and safety concerns for nearby neighborhoods and schools, double heavy truck traffic on a residential road, decrease home values and increase noise levels for area residents. Mullen Elementary School is only 1,200 feet from the proposed plant and there are numerous citizens and vulnerable residents in the area as well, none of whom should be subjected to the health concerns caused by an asphalt plant. The plant could add up to 375 trucks per day on Bethelhem Road, which runs alongside several neighborhoods. The trucks will only make traffic worse on Balls Ford Road, Sudley Road, and I-66. Another heavy industrial plant hear our communities could negative effect property values and increase noise too – both of which are unacceptable to those who live in the area. Join us in opposing the construction of a second asphalt plant!
