Recently, wooden toy maker, Grimm's Spiel und Holz Design changed it's supply chain and business model by requiring that it's toys could only be purchased by distributors based in the buyer's home country. No longer were eager parents able to buy the most fairly priced toy, they were forced to buy from a short list of Grimm's dealers that monopolized the home country market.

How does this change impact the buyers? For most, this change will increase the price paid by the consumer. It will also create a monopoly for a select group of distributors in each country, thereby creating a hardship on the consumer. It will also make it harder to acquire any Grimm's products, with only a few sites offering certain products at certain times. 

While we certainly understand the desire to reduce our impact on the environment, the environmental effect of this change is minimal in comparison to another course they could've taken: reducing the plastic packaging in some of their toy shipments.
