In January of 2019, John Brandon Lamotte of Frankfort, Kentucky was convicted to 11 years in prison for assault in the first degree. John, often known as Brandon, was found guilty beyond reasonable doubt by an all white jury. Brandon is a man known by many in the Frankfort community. His warm, welcoming smile often seen at his place of employment, Office Depot, and his former school, FHS. Brandon has zero criminal background and there is simply no motive for a violent act like this. After suffering from mental illness for 2 years, he was convicted and sent to the Kentucky State Reformatory where he is still innocent and suffering from severe mental illness. These racial injustices are affecting people in our own community. We all need to come together and #FreeJohnBrandonLamotte
