Why this petition matters

Started by jon jav

The coronavirus has sadly entered our campus halls with one student being under quarantine. While this is very sad and we pray for the student and his family, the lives of Yeshiva University students are being put in harms way by the YU administration. The student was on campus as late as thursday, and YU only began to "disinfect" the campus late tuesday evening. It is possible students were placed in harms way already. Officials confirmed that the 50-year-old New Rochelle attorney that tested positive for coronavirus worshipped at the Orthodox synagogue Young Israel of New Rochelle and anyone who attended services there in the past few weeks has been placed under quarantine. It is well known that many YU students are members of this shul and were on campus on monday and tuesday. It is possible many YU students have been exposed to coronavirus already. According to WHO, COVID-19 can transmit from person to person through droplets (coughing, sneezing, talking, etc.) and surfaces touched by confirmed patients or asymptomatic carriers, which basically meant that none of us would know if we have been exposed to the virus or not since people without symptoms can also pass on the virus. Sign the petition and stand with all the lives that are potentially at risk. Let's make YU safe from COVID-19 and protect our fellow students and colleagues by do the right thing before it's too late.
