As COVID-19 rapidly spreads across the UK, bus drivers are extremely vulnerable in catching the virus and spreading on to their families and loved ones.

In order to prevent this from happening, they should be allowed to self isolate whilst being paid their contracted hours of employment, due to the high risk work as drivers.

Currently they are offered statutory sick pay (ssp) which is under £100 per week, leaving them struggling financially. This leaves them with no other option than to work until the virus is contracted before taken seriously.

We need the government, authorities, and bus organisations to show more appreciation and to recognise the work bus drivers have been doing for many years, with almost £200 paid weekly in taxes by each and every driver, now is the time to show gratitude, help and protect the drivers who keep London moving.

By signing this petition, we can ensure these drivers remain safe, treated fairly, in good health, financially stable throughout this pandemic and ready to continue regular services once the spread of COVID-19 is under control.
