Rangers have lost the legal battle against Mike Ashley and Sports Direct for the provision of the retail merchandise. The damages claimed by Ashley is for the loss of earnings as a result of Rangers signing an agreement with Hummel. However, Rangers fans would not actually buy merchandise from Ashley or any company he is involved. Therefore, by definition,  has no damages to claim.
