Why this petition matters

Started by Cade Adelman

In an increasingly electronic and cashless world, people find themselves using and carrying cash less and less, while only carrying digital payments such as their phones more and more. This has come into direct conflict with providing homeless people monetary support, especially in difficult times, since cash is the only thing that is easily transferable to them.

It would be great to see big tech companies such as Google, Apple, and Samsung (each with their own payment apps) to embrace the idea of providing homeless people with widespread bracelets that serve as NFT devices for people to easily donate money to through their services. This would not be hard to do technically since I have increasingly seen NFT devices be implemented into other donation methods, such as signs for holiday donations to the Salvation Army.

Using these devices, homeless people would be able to go into stores and purchase items using the NFT device capabilities similar to how smartphones or credit/debit cards work.

I wanted to bring up this idea because homelessness is an issue that I hate to see, and I feel like my inability to always help them out is not limited to myself. Hopefully, this will bring attention to the issue and the idea gains widespread support as a viable option.
