The San Luis Obispo City Council has adopted a policy that any new City monuments must honor ideas, rather than people.
The Bill of Rights (amendments 1 through 10 of the United States Constitution) represent some of the most revered ideas in the history of mankind.
The first monument erected under this new City policy should be one honoring the Bill of Rights and displaying the entire Bill of Rights.
