CALL TO ACTION: HOLDING THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF CORRECTIONS ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE NEGLIGENCE OF CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES ACROSS THE NATION DURING COVID-19

While the entire world has had to endure and suffer what we know as the inevitable our families behind bars are not given a chance to even take precaution from it. How can we eradicate a virus if we do not take into account every human life that's affected by it? Over 200,000 deaths in the US from covid-19, has that number included the deaths of inmates? 

These are the questions we don't know the answers to. The ones we do know the answers to are that inmates across this country are not being properly protected, provided proper PPE or safe living conditions to protect themselves from our invisible enemy, as being proved by the civil unrest of the loved ones who have had to stand by and watch their loved ones face the fear that they may not even make it to see a trial or a court date. 

While we are fighting to protect ourselves on the outside of those walls,by wearing masks, social distancing ,sheltering in place, working from home and following CDC guidelines what's being done for them?

It is the responsibility of correctional facilities across this nation to provide safe and healthy environments to inmates to return them to society alive as productive members of it.

Give inmates,HUMAN LIVES a fighting chance against Covid19 by ensuring facilities take action by providing testing to inmates who exhibit the symptoms of having covid-19.
 
Positive cases receive proper Health Care as they should also be isolated from general population to ensure the health and safety of the Correctional facility as a whole.

Properly trained Sanitation Staff are put in place by correctional facilities for proper cleaning of cells and tiers. 

Minor charges should also be postponed until we can lessen the curve.
 

If the claim is that these Correctional Facilities are doing their jobs, then Safety measures and protocol should be put in place, reinforced and followed strategically.
