We are students of Kilombo Academic and Cultural Institute. At 12 years old, we are trying to solve a problem and our teacher said our voice matters. The problem we are trying to solve is the criminalizing of black youth. Another 12 year old like us, Corey Jackson (aka Lil C Note), was simply at Cumberland Mall with his auntie, meeting other artists like him, when a Cobb County Police Officer assaulted him. When his auntie intervened they were both arrested and 12 year old Corey Jackson was charged with felony obstruction, misdemeanor obstruction, disorderly conduct, and criminal trespassing! The youth of Kilombo Academic and Cultural Institute are in fear that the people which are supposed to protect us may harm us and our future. If found guilty of these charges Corey J will have a criminal record simply for going to the mall. Please help us pursue justice for Corey Jackson.
