Re-release Dogma on Blu-Ray
Re-release Dogma on Blu-Ray
Why this petition matters
With Robert Weinstein owning the rights to Kevin Smith's, 'Dogma', the Blu-Ray release of the film has ceased, meaning it has become one of the rarest Blu-Ray releases in cinematic history, leading the last few copies being sold for upwards of $150 - for one, single film!
Film is a delicate medium, always risking loss of preservation, if we band together to bring this issue to Weinstein, Lionsgate Films and Kevin Smith's attention, we could persuade a re-release, allowing more and more people, old and new viewers to become fans and appreciate the film. No one should have to spend an exorbitant amount of money to watch a film, period.
Why sign this petition? Because it's yet another step towards preserving not only film as a medium, but artistic integrity. We as a community have already taken the same step, fighting for the chance for Zack Snyder to continue and finish his original cut of 'Justice League' and while this is a less significant step compared to that development, it's still a worthy step. By allowing 'Dogma' to remain dead, we're granting more power to the few people who own it, allowing them to take advantage of the situation and charge whatever they think is worth one of the rarest Blu-Ray releases.
Why sign this petition? Because you love film, don't you?
