NUI Galway Students' Union is calling for NUI Galway to show compassion and abolish the €295 fee for repeat exams taking place this August.

NUI Galway has the highest repeat fee for a single exam in Ireland.

This year repeat exams will take place online, while students are in their bedrooms. The costs of invigilators, venues and printing are gone.

Other institutions such as DCU, Maynooth, QUB, UU, GMIT, UCC, Trinity have all  removed repeat exam fees due to COVID-19. NUI Galway has not. 

TDs have echoed the call of Students' Union President Pádraic Toomey to abolish the repeat fee.
