Please read to the end my fellow VAPING COMMUNITY && ALL senate members attached to receive this petition! Please help our NJ vaping community to not BAN flavored vaping products.
   Vaping helped many of my friends including me, quit smoking cigarettes and I haven’t smoked in almost 3 years because of these vaping products, not Juul in particular, but I’ve used that device too. I had been smoking for more than over a decade, unfortunately. What helped me was the actual Vape Shops and their knowledge about products and juices. The Smok Novo device then the Smok Novo 2 helped me quit along with a “mod” called Aegis mini by Geek Vape and forgive me but the first one I actually quit with I forget the name of right this minute. There were a few mods I tried before these that helped me also and I had cut down significantly and then completely cut out tobacco and nicotine products completely along with all of the other harmful, disgusting additives in cigarettes, like tar and fiber glass. Well, now they’ve officially banned any flavors that aren’t “tobacco” like. This decision was intended originally to help with the children and teen community that have progressively started vaping. (Not to mention the BIG TOBACCO HAND, that MOST likely played a huge part in this ban).. but here I go assuming again. Let’s stick to facts.
  Now, I know that vaping doesn’t smell like that awful cigarette scent and so it’s easier for these teens and children to ”get away” with this without parents and/or teachers finding out until it’s “too late”, but as with anything else along these lines, they will find another outlet, especially now, with this ban, if they’re smoking vapes with nicotine additives, they’re probably addicted at this point and WILL turn to cigarettes with the high increase on tax that they’re going to implement, which is stated in the bill as well. Even worse they’ll find alternatives like driving to a neighboring state and buy illegally, opening a boat load of crimes being committed in the name of FLAVORED VAPOR. Parents should be dealing with children in their own way and punishing them accordingly, this isn’t something our governor should be taking his time trying to do. This is on the parents on the NJ Senate or US Government! Look at the similar polls from years ago showing the use of teen cigarette smokers from the passed decade or two even three, proving how many of them had started and became addicted and gotten cancer or other horrible hurtful, harmful diseases and at what ages. I’m assuming again, which I don’t like doing, but I am going GUESS with this one, that it’s probably just about the same amount of kids, just not as many deaths (Unless devices are being misused and/or used incorrectly). I understand that smoking isn’t healthy PERIOD. It should be *AVOIDED completely! I also do in fact, admire the quick action in this situation for our YOUTH, but still, that doesn’t excuse the FACT that there are far too many adult smokers out there that use these devices now and have quit smoking cigarettes for the state of NJ to ban flavors now.
This ban on flavors is ridiculously written and out of line, it will take many many small business owners under, with stock of flavors they can not sell just sitting in the back of their shops collecting dust. This will and quite frankly put already is creating outrage in the community of E-Liquid users and manufacturers.
  Now, this bill takes effect on 4/20/20. I refused to smoke the tobacco flavored products and anyone else I know, the majority of them that vapes/vaped, either smoke/ed a fruity flavor (cherry, blueberry, tropical punch, mango, pineapple etc..) or desert flavor (vanilla, custard, marshmallow, french toast, Rice Krispie, etc..) , as I did. The vaping community doesn’t want unflavored, rather, just tobacco flavored products, that’s the point, getting away from this all together and smoking a vape instead of cigarettes, it was the best change I’ve ever made in my life. Being around 95% healthier than smoking cigarettes, if you do the real research, and the flavors help to adjust that filthy lifestyle whether you choose to lower the nicotine additive or not. I started vaping with a “six” nicotine additive, and maintained myself lowering my nicotine intake in increments of twos down to a “zero” within two months.
   ***FACT*** The ingredients of vape juice/e-liquids are the (1) flavor, (2) Vegetable Glycerin and (3) Propylene Glycol.. and (4) nicotine, if wanted. Nicotine is NOT in ALL juices and the amount varies as well. It is labeled on every single bottle you buy, as well as the risk factors. That’s it, majority of the time with reputable E-Juice companies. That is what is in VAPE juice. SOME flavors, SOME, mixed with these additives cause inflammation, and/or nausea. What are the potential (and indefinite by factual basis) effects cigarettes cause? We all know too well, death, cancer etc. Why hasn’t Senate added the ban of menthol cigarettes to this ban bill that was passed and IS IN FACT a part of the old version of this bill? Well Stephen Sweeney (president of senate) said he wants to push it back for a YEAR for budgeting discussions.. Ok, that’s just ridiculous to me.
  BAN CIGARETTES AND NOT THE ALTERNATIVE THATS HELPED SO MANY OF MY FRIENDS AND I; BAN THE OFF BRAND COMPANIES FROM SELLING ANY IMPURITIES BEING ADDED TO OFF BRAND JUICE AND THE SEPARATE DEVICES THAT ALREADY HAVE JUICE IN THEM; BAN THE ECIG INDUSTRY FROM SELLING TO CHILDREN (which was already done actually); PLEASE DON’T BAN THE VAPING INDUSTRY IN ITS ENTIRETY, because that is what banning flavors will do. In closing, there’s a huge difference between kids smoking because of flavors; remember Big Tobacco and the revolt against Camel cigarettes years ago because the Camel was apparently aimed to target children??.. There’s a difference between the adult vaping community using flavored e-juices and being able to put down years of a horrible life threatening habit, there’s a HUGE difference between vape juice (e-juice) and any “Juul” products or juice filled e-cigarettes on the market today. This needs to be discussed and should have been (by poll or other action), with the people (adults) of NJ who vape and who’s lives the vaping products have changed for the better, NOT just rashly BAN PRODUCTS THAT ARE SAVING LIVES.

Senators, I hope that this reaches you all in good spirits and you take the time to come to an agreement with us as a community in NJ.
