Problem
Blake James is an incompetent athletic director who has overseen the downfall of a once proud athletics program. What was once a pillar of the community is now in shambles with players/coaches leaving left and right. There is nepotism, incompetence, and a lack of accountability permeating the department.

Fire Blake James


Football - Our program was once the class of college football -- now it is a perpetual doormat losing to the likes of FIU and Louisiana Tech this past season. Our most recent coaching hire was supposedly a "national search" per Mr. James, however that national search lasted all of 6 hours when he paid Temple for the right to hire our former defensive coordinator. This led to a 6-7 season this past year with losses incomprehensible to a program of our former standard. The MIami Hurricanes are 14-17 in their last 31 games.

A program that once was a beacon of hope for kids in South Florida and inspired people like me, not even from Miami-Dade, to strive for greatness and never settle for mediocrity is now an ACC also-ran.

Coaching Searches Continued

Mr. James promoted a relative of a Board of Trustee member (DiMare) to be the new baseball coach last year following the retiring of Jim Morris.

The most recent basketball hire, Jim Larranaga, had to contact the University to express his interest. He was not even known to the folks around here.

These, combined with the laughable search for our last football coach, illustrate a level of incompetency that is permeating through the department. This man is single-handedly costing the University millions and millions of dollars and robbing student-athletes of getting the best coaching possible to prepare them for a future pro career. One would think with the constant failures that have taken place that someone would have to eventually fall on the sword -- but it does not seem that the Board of Trustees or Miami administrators simply care enough to do anything.

For those that say things like this hurt recruiting, I simply say, no. You know what hurts recruiting? Losing to FIU and Lousiana Tech. That's what hurts recruiting.


If Miami admin will listen to the fans and are so inclined to get this righted; start with removing Blake and go get a real athletic director.
