Dear the President of the International Criminal Court, Judge Chile Eboe-Osuji, the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Fatou Bom Bensouda,

 We are deeply concerned over the escalating brutality of the Myanmar military coup against our people and the democratically-elected government.

 On 1st of February 2021, Myanmar military carried out a coup d'etat and unlawfully detained our state counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and President U Win Myint and other senior leaders of National League of Democracy. Since then, the raids have been constantly carried out every night and many activists have been kidnapped and arrested. The internet access has been restricted on daily basis and civilian rights are stripped away.

 On 9th of February, Myanmar police force fired live rounds at peaceful protesters in Nay Pyi Taw. A 19-year-old civilian Mya Thwate Thwate Khaing was fatally shot in the head with a live bullet. On 12th of February, Myanmar junta chief Min Aung Hlaing granted the amnesty of more than 20,000 criminals in an attempt to stir up troubles and unrest in the community. On 13th February, viral video clips on facebook showed that civilian vigilantes captured the footage of some thugs and bandits who were dropped off by the police forces at night that cause arson attacks on civilian houses. People of Myanmar feel the nights are no longer safe and they have to live with fear day and night.

Every 8 pm at night, people showed solidarity to condemn the Military Junta by banging pots and pans in their own . On street, there are tens of thousands of people protesting peacefully. Civil servants have gathered hand in hand and more and more join civil disobedience movement. The Military Junta continues to crush down the protests and increases their brutal forces. We have seen the footage of their violent crackdown in cities such as Mandalay, Myit Kyi Nar and Nay Pyi Daw and many more places.

On 14th of February, the internet shutdown between 01.00 AM and 09.00 AM was initiated, and that makes people worried for their loved ones’ safety and their loss of basic human rights to access to what is happening outside of their house. We noticed the evidence of several to-and-fro flights between Kunming and Yangon despite the airport closure but the Military rejected the landing of flight from India carrying COVID-19 vaccines by giving the reason of closure of the airport. On the following day, many civilians believe that they have spotted Chinese soldiers and the deployment of armoured vehicles across the cities.

On 16th of February, our leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi was filed a new charge fabricated by the military regime against nationwide protests. On 17th of February, the viral online footage showed Myanmar security forces' deadly crackdown on anti-coup railway workers in Madalay and burning down their houses. Burmese people outcry for help from international communities in the depths of despair over our own security forces.

On 20th February, the Military committed further brutal crackdown on unarmed protestors in the shipyard in Mandalay that led to two civillians death and twenty casualties. There was a reportedly inhumane act of a 16-year-old volunteer first aid who was shot in head. The viral images showed that the sniper shot even at the ambulance and people who were trying to rescue the injured civilians and peaceful protestors and the bullet holes in the medical clinic nearby. The Myanmar military 33rd Light Infantry Division who involved in the Inn-Dinn massacres and other atrocities in Rakhine state was reportedly involved in that Mandalay-shipyard crackdown.

On the same night of 20th February, one vigilante from neighbourhood watch in Shwe Pyi Thar township of Yangon was shot dead for questioning the polices why they were in the area and we have seen this live stream video on Facebook. The use of lethal weapons against unarmed civilians should reach to an end.

The shooting at the first aid, ambulance and medical clinic against the Geneva Convention should be brought to justice. Mass atrocities, brutal killings, arbitrary arrests and the repeated violations of human rights that are carried out by the Military Junta in Myanmar are clearly not ‘the internal affair’, not the ‘Civil war’ but the crime against humanity. These barbaric acts must end. The leader of Military Coup. General Min Aung Hlaing must be held accountable and brought to the ICC. We calls for the restoration of our democratically-elected government and the rejection of Military Junta. With the international help and kind considerations on Myanmar, we can return successfully to the truly democratic country. Hence, we strongly urge you to help restore our elected civilian government by all means including targeted military strikes if need be and exterminate the military junta from our beloved country.

Update: 28th February, there were 26 deaths, 34 deaths in total, many innocent peaceful protesters were injured and arrested. Everyone, 50 million people in the country hearts broken.
