Why this petition matters

Started by Suffolk Labour Group

Successive Conservative-administrations on Suffolk County Council have slashed the budget for bus subsidy from £4.31 million in 2008/09 to £1.75 million in 2018/19, a reduction of 59% in 10 years.

These cuts fall hardest on the poorest families in rural areas where unaffordable and unreliable public transport links make it hard to find and hold onto full-time employment.

We are calling on the Tories to follow other councils who have put an end to bus subsidy cuts, to protect our bus services and make them sustainable for the future, putting Suffolk's residents first.
