Why this petition matters

Started by The Morning Toast

While Governor Cuomo signed an executive order to require public and private hospitals to comply with the most recent Department of Health directive and allow partners back in to Labor & Delivery, he has completed neglected antepartum women in hospitals across New York City.

Today in NYC, antepartum women who are experiencing high-risk pregnancies or pregnancy complications are still NOT allowed any visitation, even from a support partner. These pregnant women experiencing high risk pregnancies and pregnancy complications HAVE to be hospitalized for the sake of themselves and their babies, There is NO doubt that being completely alone over an extended period of time can lead to emotional issues like depression and anxiety. According to The American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), between 14-23% of women will struggle with some symptoms of depression during pregnancy.

Help us get New York State to recognize the importance of antepartum as he did Labor & Delivery and Postpartum just weeks ago. Pregnant women across NYC need your help!
