8 people have now drowned at Lake Piru because of the strong currents and whirlpools in the lake itself as well as debris and trees at the bottom of it. It is clear that swimming should not be allowed at the lake for safety reasons but also out of respect for the lives lost and to stop anyone else suffering the same fate.
