Whether Avalon is your permanent residence or your vacation destination of choice, this little slice of heaven is also home to miles of waterfront and a diverse collection of wildlife that need protection. This community dumps a shocking amount of chemicals on our lawns that end up destroying our delicate ecosystem.

Chemicals used to build and maintain landscapes are constantly polluting the environment, causing sickness and cancer and harming wildlife, pets, and children. We strive to help people and communities understand the long term results of applying chemicals to their yards. 

Of 30 commonly used lawn chemicals, 19 are linked with cancer or carcinogenicity, 13 are linked with birth defects, 21 with reproductive effects, 26 with liver or kidney damage, 15 with neurotoxicity, and 11 with disruption of the endocrine (hormonal) system. (Petition to ban at least these 30 chemicals)
