Why this petition matters

Started by Katherine Brown

The possibility of Lewis Hamilton facing investigation and punishment from the FIA for wearing a t-shirt with the intention of raising awareness of the murder of Breonna Taylor is proof to race fans that F1 is not committed to their End Racism campaign. For weeks now we have been shown drivers wearing End Racism shirts and their cars carrying the #WeRaceAsOne message, however Formula 1 has failed to outline how they plan to make motorsport more diverse.

As a race fan, it is truly disappointing to see minimal action from those in the most senior roles. Instead of punishing the one driver on the F1 grid who is trying to force positive change, we want to see Formula 1 and the FIA commit to their End Racism campaign and the #WeRaceAsOne message. We want action, not empty-promises and the same video broadcast every week.
