The Uyghur Muslims are a group of Muslims that are Turkic-speaking Muslims from the Central Asian region. The largest population lives in China's autonomous Xinjiang region. They are being kidnapped and forced into concentration camps or as China calls them¨re- education¨  camps. Chinese officials denied this since 2017 but as more evidence was shown they had claimed that it was true. At least 800,000 and possibly more than 2 million Uyghurs are in “reeducation centers,” marking the largest mass internment of an ethnic-religious minority group since World War II. The Chinese officials claim that these camps are for Uighurs who have committed crimes and are at the camp so that terrorist activity does not occur. They are accusing innocent people of being criminals. Some of the reasons that these people were sent to the camp were: wearing a hijab, praying in public, speaking the Uighur native language, and practicing Uighur traditions. The Uighurs are not allowed to pray so they are forced to pray secretly while sitting down or in the bathroom. They are blindfolded and shackled. The people are forced to eat or drink things that are prohibited by the Islamic religion. Uyghurs are forced to undergo physical torture like waterboarding and sexual abuse. The Uighurs are hit, shocked, and tased. They are forced to take a pill every two hours that make them feel numb. Their hands and feet were handcuffed together. The people in the camps are forced to film videos saying that they are okay and acting like they are happy. The camp has mass surveillance. They have cameras in the bathrooms, sleep rooms, and classrooms. Uighurs inside and outside the camps are exploited for cheap labor, forced to manufacture clothing and other products for sale both at home and abroad. Chinese authorities subjected Uighur women to mass sterilization, forcing them to take birth control or have abortions and putting them in camps if they resist.  Xinjiang intended to erase the Uighurs’ Islamic religious and cultural identity, including imprisoning hundreds of thousands in so-called “reeducation” camps. The officers pee on the Uighur's faces and make them do push-ups and other activities while being completely naked. Their children are banned from having Muslim names. Headscarves and long beards are banned as well. The women are not allowed to wear long, baggy clothing. Their whole lives are being controlled. They don't get fed properly and starve to death. Seeing someone in the camp getting killed or tortured is very common. The organs of the Uighurs are sold.  China’s government is oppressing Uighur Muslims and it is inhumane.
