• Its been long enough. NHL 09 was the last EA game on PC. 09. The PC community has waited 11 years for a new version. Now, I get it - there may not be enough of a community for online play.  With that, I have a few arguments.  
• There are a huge amount of players that own a PS4 or Xbox one just for NHL. There are a lot of people who would switch to PC.
• Cross-play has become a huge thing in the recent years, so why can't we?
• It brings a new audience to your game, a game that desperately needs a bigger audience. 
• There is already a huge community STILL PLAYING NHL 04 rather than getting the new games because they are on PC
• If people are honestly scared for modders, look at the modding community. They don't hack to make the game unfair. They update logos on the ice. Custom jerseys. Authentic goalie masks. In-game music to make it truly feel like you're watching your team. They mod for looks, not game play.

Just try it. For NHL 21. If it is not a success, at least we tried. If it is, you just grew the community. Which. Is. Needed.
