In London, Ontario, a group misleadingly named "We Need a Law" has published advertisements on London's Public Transit system's buses. The advertisements claim that in Canada there are "no laws on abortion", a claim that has been debunked by the Canadian Code of Advertising Standards already (https://www.thecoast.ca/RealityBites/archives/2018/08/10/misleading-billboard-fuels-false-information-about-abortion 

At the core of the matter is the fact that abortion is health care and women should always have access to health care that affects their bodies. In Canada, abortion is a constitutionally protected right and Canadians from coast to coast to coast support women's bodily autonomy. 

We call on the London Transit Commission (LTC) to remove these signs immediately, and protect women's bodily autonomy and women's health care. We also call on the LTC to ensure that the advertisements they allow on their buses are factual.

The London Transit Commission is a publicly funded enterprise that receives money not only from the Provincial Government, but from the Municipal government in London, as well. As such, advertisements that aim to divide those very people that pay for these services should be restricted.
