SAVE WOODLEY'S TAME VALLEY - SAY NO TO EXPANSION OF BREDBURY INDUSTRIAL ESTATE
SAVE WOODLEY'S TAME VALLEY - SAY NO TO EXPANSION OF BREDBURY INDUSTRIAL ESTATE
Why this petition matters
We urgently petition Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council to reject any proposal in the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework to extend Bredbury Parkway Industrial Estate into the protected green belt of our lovely Tame Valley. Any such development would:
· adversely affect the wild life on both sides of the valley,
· create more heavy traffic congestion on the narrow two-lane Ashton Road (A6017) and on the Crookilly Way roundabout and Stockport Road (A560)
· increase air pollution – both A6017 and A560 already experience high levels of nitrous oxide at rush hour
· ruin the quality of life for residents next to the development in Lowick Green, Castle Hill Park and Botany Road and lower Mill Lane by creating more vehicular access and parking for the industrial units and also for the nearby sports centre possibly attracting anti-social behaviour in the evenings,
· reduce leisure walking opportunities for the nearby residents of Woodley, Bredbury and Brinnington
· deny future generations their green heritage
and would ignore the many available brownfield sites elsewhere in the Borough and Greater Manchester
Sign now – we have to present the petition two weeks before the online Council meeting 22nd October 2020 so OUR DEADLINE IS 8TH OCTOBER
