I am petitioning the state to allow tattoo and body piercing parlors to take part in phase one of reopening Florida. The practice of tattooing and piercing is essentially an elective procedure, in the respect that it is a sterile, one-on-one procedure. We are able to wear PPE (masks, gloves, etc). We can also require customers to wash/sanitize their hands upon entering the building as well as wearing masks while in the shop. We use tuburculocidal disinfectants in the shop and will require employees to disinfect the entire shop between every customer. We will require that customers have appointments for all tattoos, piercings, consultations, and purchases in order to minimize the amount of bodies in the shop. We will also require that all clients come to their appointments alone. Tattoo parlors do not have the need or capacity for large crowds, are sterile, and easy to self-regulate. This is a small business that would be safe to allow a soft opening as part of phase one of reopening Florida.
