‘NO WALLS21' Campaign!  Statement!

Hi, I’m Kale Harris-Herbert, aged 10.  I have Aspergers – a form of Autism, and I live in Wavendon Milton Keynes.  I have written to Prime Minister Mr Boris Johnson, asking the Government to allow all school children and anyone studying for a year’s grace, so that we can all re-learn and take again the subjects and exams that should have been taken during the national lockdowns and worldwide pandemic in 2020!  I, my big brother Johnson and little sister Indiana have recorded ourselves reading out my letter for social media and I am heading a campaign we are calling ‘No Walls21’ We have re-written the words to the awe-inspiring ‘The Wall’ by Pink Floyd but with the emphasis on returning to school so all pupils can have the greatest chance of reaching their full potential! Although I am young with a disability, I do have a proposal and a way forward for the Prime Minister and the Government if they are willing to listen?

My first action was writing to the Prime Minister, my second action is writing to you the press, my third action is getting as many people as I can to sign a letter to say they agree with me, to send to the Prime minister.

*A survey by education publication TES (Times Educational Supplement) found that three quarters of British teachers feel their students are lagging behind previous year groups.

*Prime Minister Mr Boris Johnson has admitted that it could take a year for children to catch up from the impact of Covid school closures, claiming online learning is having a 'huge impact' on the education of millions of pupils.

I look forward to hearing from you, with respect, (my mum helped me a little with this)

Kale Harris-Herbert
