A recent research study suggests that a lot of (73%) infected people picked up the virus from people who are asymptomatic.

The current state of Italy is a real wake-up call to us. As of today cases in Italy climbed to 31,506 and death toll climbed to 2503. Italy, Iran, as well as other close-by European countries have seen cases explode exponentially, medical care systems overwhelmed, an increasing fatality rate! Not a while ago, people in Italy did not take drastic measures and continued their routine as usual. On the contrary, situation in countries like China, South Korea, Singapore, and Japan is under control after taking multiple drastic steps like stopping social gatherings, shifting to online schools, etc. China even had to lock down the country for one month and a half.
In the US, the situation on the coasts is tracking in the fashion in Italy. If we don't take drastic measures to slow the spread of the virus, our hospitals will be overrun with patients who will be in dire need of medical attention and we are not equipped to handle it. We don’t have enough tests at this moment and some major cities could have up to 100k people walking around with no symptoms or mild symptoms and spreading it to others without realizing it. Let’s practice social distancing by staying home as to not spread the virus. You can spread it not showing any symptoms at all and that is dangerous for the 20% of our country. Anyone that is not taking this seriously is doing a grave disservice to their fellow Americans, especially those who are at high risk, those with autoimmune disease, going through cancer treatments and elderly.
